Special Educational Needs (SEND) & equality

Wilmslow Grange Community Primary School and Nursery is an inclusive school; we work with determination to meet the needs of ALL of our pupils.

We are very proud to be recognised as a leading school within the locality for the provision of Teaching & Learning for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. When identifiying and supporting children with SEND we use a Graduated Approach following guidance from Cheshire East's SEND Toolkit. Please follow the link SEND Toolkit

for further details.

On site, we have a Resource Provision for seven children with Autistic Spectrum Conditions  (ASC) led by our SEND co-ordinator Mrs. Andrea Booth.

We work alongside Cheshire East to deliver training and are a "pod" school for Manchester Metropolitan University in training teachers in delivery provision for SEND pupils.

As a maintained primary school within Cheshire East all admissions arrangements must be made through the council and in accordance with their policies and procedures. Please click the link below to access their site:

Further information regarding admissions is contained in the SEND policy 2014 and the Equality Statement / plan(click link below). These contain:

  • The steps the school has taken to prevent pupils with SEND from being treated less favourably than other pupils
  • Access facilities for pupils with SEND
  • The accessibility plan agreed by our Governing body.

Further details of services available through our school and within the local area can be found on Cheshire East's LiveWell Site.
