Macclesfield Academy Boccia Tournament

Three children from years 2, 3 and 4  took part in the Macclesfield Academy Boccia Tournament on Thursday 6th October. They played exceptionally well, winning 3 out of their 4 matches which took them through to the Semi Final. After a close game they won their semi final match and went through to the Final against Upton Priory. It was a nail biting final as it was a draw after the first two ends; however, Upton Priory came back strongly to win the final by 8 balls to 3.  The winning teams will go through to the County Final which we won last year. The team were very proud of their Silver medals!

Boccia is an inclusive game which is similar to bowls. The children have to remain seated and compete in teams of 3. It is a Paralympic Sport. The team played to a very high standard and we hope to take part in further competitions later this year.
